_{and one day, just around the corner
you'll be you and i'll be me
and we'll walk the streets, hand-in-hand
and our carefree giggles and snippets of joy
will ring through.
(like a melody i swear the people will have never heard.)

you'll call me your angel,
and i'll laugh and tell you that you're only saying that cause i'm
your best friend f o r e v e r.
and you'll nod, eyes still chirpy,
hair still curly
(you forgot to straighten it, remember?)

and we'll run around the edges of the cliffs,
that hang right above the sea,
and we'll stroll along the coast,
on the sand,
looking back at our our footsteps,
and you'll whine about how,
i forced you out your door,
and you left your little camera inside,
(in that pretty pink case; with red hearts and a purple zip.)

and i'll laugh at you,
and tell you how you want to picture everything
pretty in life
when in reality,
you hold every thing you've ever liked in you left palm,
(and the pocket of your favorite jeans, which you stole from me)

and you'll just whine anyway,
because really now, when have we ever listened to each other?
and when the water washes away our memories,
you'll be teary,
but i'll grip your hand tightly in mine,
and i'll say,
"we've still got more to make."}
